Frequently Asked Questions

  • -> Will my child be working in a group or individually?
  • A mix! Most Early STEM and Junior students work individually. Discover STEM students work individually or in teams of two depending on the camp.
  • -> Can I see what my child is doing during camp?
  • We’d love for you to! We want all parents to see and experience what their child is working on but it varies how we can do that between sites. For our Rancho Cucamonga STEM Center Campers, there is a dedicated summary/show case time at the end of every day (11:50 - 12:00). We ask that you come 10 minutes early to the end of camp to see your child's progress for the day. For our Claremont El Roble Campers, we will bring student materials to the check-out tables each day for physical camps! We'll have campers take turns each day to make sure we can safely bring materials out.
  • -> What is the cancellation policy if I need to cancel?
  • We know things happen and want to make things work for you. To cover our time, all camp cancellations are subject to a non-refundable $30 processing fee. Outside of that, full refunds can be issued if the cancellation is 30+ days from the start of camp. Cancellations within 30 days can be refunded at 50% OR camp funds may be transferred in full to any future STEM Center USA program.
  • -> What materials will be provided?
  • STEM Center USA will supply all necessary materials needed for the camp. The only thing you are responsible for bringing is a reusable water bottle and 2-3 snacks to have during snack breaks. Campers get hungry when they are learning! For some Rancho Cucamonga computer-based camps, bringing your own laptop is encouraged in order to continue working on projects post-camp. We do have laptops for all students to use otherwise!
  • -> Are your instructors background checked?
  • Yes! All of our instructors are fingerprinted and background checked. STEM Center USA holds the highest clearance for an education company with background checks run at the Department of Justice and FBI level to ensure our staff is fully reviewed prior to working with students. Instructors are also CPR trained.
